Some days are dull scissors days,
And some days are sharp scissors days.
I don’t know why and I don’t know when a day will be which.

But I do know this:
Stop trying to cut fabric on dull scissors days.
You’ll have little to show for your effort, except
edges chewed up instead of neatly cut,
Snagged and stretched and ruined.
Put those scissors down.
Today is not the day for this work.
Set it aside.

A sharp scissors day will come along soon enough.
